Ship delivering two huge container cranes to PhilaPort’s Packer Avenue to transit up the Delaware River Wednesday morning

WHAT:
The arrival of PhilaPort’s second set of super post-Panamax cranes as they transit up the Delaware River to the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal (PAMT). *The ship will transit up river overnight.
WHEN:
March 26-March 27
- Tuesday, March 26 at 3:30 P.M. Start of transit from Big Stone Anchorage
- Wednesday, March 27 at 12:01 A.M. First bridge passage @ Delaware Memorial Bridge
- Wednesday, March 27 at 3:45 A.M. Expected arrival at Packer Avenue Marine Terminal
* The ship carrying the cranes – the Zhen Hua 25 – will be docked alongside the terminal for approximately one week. Set to depart Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

- Cost per crane: $12 million
- Cranes are large enough to load and discharge the newest generation of ULCVs* 10,000-18,000 containers per ship.
