Ports & Maritime Project Manager

PhilaPort has an exciting opportunity for a Ports and Maritime Project Manager to join our team as part of the Port Administration Operations/Engineering Department located in Philadelphia, PA. The successful candidate will support our mission by providing engineering, technical, planning and management, and administrative support for Operations and Engineering Departments

Responsibilities:

The Ports and Maritime Project Manager will report directly to the Sr. Director of Operations.  The Ports & Maritime Project Manager will coordinate construction projects, participating in internal meetings, and developing budgetary and planning documents. In this role, you will assist in planning new facilities and the rehabilitation of existing terminal facilities, by preparing a detailed project dashboard that will track each project to ensure schedule, budgets, and deadlines are met. The Ports & Maritime Manager will work with and oversee the efforts of the engineering department.  The position requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively with both our in-house team as well as with tenants, port stakeholders, and the regulatory agency community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution, with a minimum 5 years relevant work experience

• Valid US Driver’s license

• Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) – visit www.tsa.gov for information on requirements; and

Highly Preferred: Design and construction experience in any or all of the following areas: concrete and asphalt paving, sprinkler systems, electrical distribution and sewer and water lines, industrial building and heavy marine construction experience with demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs and AutoCAD

• Coordinate Staffing and workload throughout the Engineering Department

• Ability to create and track schedules, deadlines and budgets

• Work with finance department and engineering department for project reviews

• Establish tenant relationships and be involved with contractual, design, production, and budget meetings

• This position requires strong communications skill both written and oral to transmit information to the engineering department as well as senior management, the Board of Directors and the PhilaPort CEO.

• Project and construction management experience (1-2 years minimum).

• The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
