PhilaPort’s Ed Henderson Transitioning to Business Development and Planning Role

Philadelphia, August 4, 2021 — PhilaPort is pleased to announce that Ed Henderson, currently the Authority’s Senior Director of Finance and Administration, will transition to the newly established position of Senior Director of Business Development and Planning. He will begin the transition immediately, while continuing with his current responsibilities until a new Director of Finance is hired.

In his new role, Henderson will focus on refining PhilaPort’s Master Plan, capital budget development, lease negotiations, and coordinating other strategic commercial issues. This organizational change will enable PhilaPort to continue its growth trajectory and ensure that the Port maintains its vital role as an economic engine for the region.

“Ed has the background, management experience and passion for port development to provide great leadership in this important area. He has been a key part of our success over the past few years, and he is a great fit for these important responsibilities,” commented PhilaPort CEO Jeff Theobald.

Prior to his current role, Henderson served the Authority in finance, planning, and marketing positions. Before joining PhilaPort, he worked for Philadelphia-based freight forwarder BDP.
